POST TITLE: NATIONAL EXPERT – PROGRAMME ANALYST
DURATION: 6 Months Date required: 1 July – 31 December 2011 (fixed)
DUTY STATION: Abuja, Nigeria
BACKGROUND
The regional office of UNIDO in Nigeria is implementing a four-year Country Programme that was developed in line with the need of the country to become one the 20 largest economies of the world by the years 2020 using industry as its spring board. In view of its huge resource endowment and the quest to diversity the productive base of the Nigerian economy, the Country Programme has three interrelated thematic priority areas follows: (a) Poverty reduction through productive activities; (b) Trade Capacity Building; and (c) Energy and Environment
The National Expert is expected to make substantive contribution to the activities of the regional office within the context of the Country Programme. Under the supervision of the UNIDO Representative in Nigeria, he (she) is expected to perform the following duties:

PUBLIC SECTOR EXECUTIVE
Reporting to the Head, Public Sector & Exports, the preferred candidate will be expected to source for business with Federal, State, local Government and other Government Institutions.
Applicants must have hands-on experience in government business, be driven by a strong desire to achieve results and demonstrate a high level of competence in Marketing and Sales function. Applicants must possess HND/BSc in Marketing or related discipline with at least three (3) years relevant experience.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
The incumbent will be expected to organise, manage and motivate a pool of technicians to meet the mechanical maintenance issues pertaining to utilities in the company. Candidate should not be more than 45 years old and must possess an HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering with at least ten (10)years cognate experience in the pharmaceutical/manufacturing industry, possession of an MBA would be an added advantage.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge, tenacity and hands-on approach to solving problems.
PRODUCT MANAGER
Reporting to the Head, Specialist Business Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of quality product plans aimed at enhancing the company’s competitive market position and delivering profit and growth expectations from assigned market/therapeutic segment. He/ She must possess good analytical ability, strong oral and written communication abilities, good presentation skills, good planning, co-ordination and decision making skills. Candidates should possess B.Pharm, MBA will be an added advantage. Membership of relevant professional body, 4 years medical field sales experience with a reputable company and not be more than 35 years of age
