The QED Group seeks qualified Nigerian national candidates to to help manage and supervise a six-month anticipated project evaluation focused on community empowerment and governance accountability activities in one of the three northern Nigeria states of Kaduna, Jigawa and Kano. The project is funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID). Project office will be based in Kano with frequent travel to other two states.

Job Title: State Evaluation Manager
Job Level: Mid-Level

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Deputy Team Leader based in Kano, to plan, schedule, manage and monitor the work of enumerators collecting data in Kano, Kaduna or Jigawa.
• Build and maintain a strong motivated team through mentoring, coaching, clear and open communications.
• Directly supervise enumerators, translators and other team members working in one of the three state offices
• Manage data collection and entry taking place in one of the three states and respective LGAs
• Provide enumerator training on data collection protocols and specific instructions on how to record data collected in a uniform way

Key Qualifications:

• A minimum of two years of evaluation experience including experience in surveys and data processing
• At least two field assignments in Africa with Nigeria or West Africa experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills
• Experiencing working on or managing a DFID-funded activity within the last five years a plus.
• Fluency in written and spoken English. Working proficiency in Hausa.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of statistical software like STATA or SPSS
• Proficient internet user
